Citrulline and Glutamine Benefits
Citrulline and Glutamine, what are they and why do we need them?
L-Glutamine is very important in our bodies. Although our bodies do produce some Glutamine, in times of stress from exercise or illness it is not enough. Glutamine plays a major factor in protein synthesis and metabolism. Because of Glutamine’s role in breaking down proteins for our bodies to use and it’s nitrogen production, Glutamine is often used to improve gut/digestive function, improve immune system function, weight loss control for people with HIV/AIDS, helps skin regeneration for burn victims, and to help curb some side effects of chemotherapy patients.
For those in good health trying to improve fitness and weight loss, what does all this mean to you? It is pretty simple, we use Glutamine for its ability to synthesize the protein we eat and deliver the nutrients and nitrogen to repair and build more muscle mass. A secondary use is for immune system boosting as our system becomes weak when our body is more focused on repairing our muscles and restoring energy levels.
L-Citrulline is very important for us, our bodies do not make Citrulline on their own, and we must supplement it. Our kidney converts Citrulline into Arginine, and Arginine into Nitric Oxide. Nitric Oxide is absorbed by your blood vessels and into your artery walls. This softens the tissue and increases flexibility. This allows your arteries to become more efficient, veins to widen increaseing blood flow and reducing blood pressure. Increased blood flow offers many benefits such as boosting athletic performance, increased muscle protein levels, symptom relief for men with ED, women's health, improved immune system function, improved kidney function, improved blood flow to cold hands and feet in diabetes patients, and may help boost the effects of medications like ibuprofen to treat headaches and the common cold.
At H2Bodyworks we recognize the many benefits on Citrulline and Glutamine and their ability to help you process and deliver nutrients your body needs. That is why we have added it to our Xessential BCAA product.
You should always consult with your doctor before taking any supplement or medication to ensure it is safe for you to take.
